World AIDS Day

I'm back from my amazing travels across Europe and West Africa... it was so insightful and truly a wonderful experience! Today I want to take the time out to remind some and introduce others to what is known as







World AIDS Day is recognized each year on December 1 to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education regarding a leading killer of african american and latino men and women. Many of those who are infected with the disease are unaware of their HIV status and may unknowingly transmit the virus to others. This is why it’s critical for us all to get educated, get tested, get treated and get involved! Don't be ashamed!!!


Since 1981, more than 25 million people have died of AIDS and young people account for half of all new HIV infections worldwide. Additionally, AIDS is the leading cause of death of blacks between the ages of 25–44. Stopping AIDS is like learning your ABCs: abstain, be faithful and condom use.

If everyone were tested and treated regularly, according to a recent study by The Lancet, new HIV cases could be reduced by 95% within 10 years.

Do your part: keep talking about the issue and be sure to get tested.

Eva Mendes - Does November 2008 Harpers Bazaar Australia

Eva Mendes is the cover girl of the latest November issue of Harpers Bazaar Australia. In the interview, Eva talks about her heritage, her style, dieting and her famous curves.

On her curves: “I have to work out four to six times a week. It’s because I enjoy pasta and having a biscuit with my coffee. I didn’t work out today, but tomorrow I’ll run Bondi to Bronte. My Cuban heritage means if the zipper doesn’t zip up the whole way, we just say screw it! No big deal.”

On her exotic look: “I definitely feel my ethnicity or exoticness has got me to where I am, yet at the same time it can also hold me back because studio heads or directors are reluctant to cast me as an all-American girl. Those parts go to Drew Barrymore, who is actually a good friend of mine.”

On her upbringing: “When I was little I wanted to earn lots of money. I grew up in Silver Lake, LA, and we were very working class. I used to say to my mum: I’m going to buy you a big house, pay your bills and you’ll never have to work again. Then I discovered nuns don’t get paid, so I thought: How am I going to buy these houses?”

On her style: “I try not to stand out. My style can be a little kooky, but I don’t want to be known for how I dress. I’ve made a conscious decision to stay away from dresses that make me stand out in a ‘fashiony’ way. I certainly love fashion, but I want to be known for my work. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas!!!

People magazine reports that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas early Sunday morning. How early? Try 3:15 am in the morning!

The boricua power couple spent most of the night club-hopping and at about 12:30 am they decided to call up a minister and renew their love to each other.

Were they drunk? Jen and Marc have been married now for four years.

Congrats!
Also - New York Mets player Carlos Beltran and wife Jessica also renewed their vows with Marc and Jen, making it a joint ceremony.

When music wonder twins Nina Sky took over dance floors with their 2004 hit, "Move Ya Body," even they weren't sure what they were doing. "Our first album was written about things we hadn't yet experienced in our lives," says Nicole Albino, one half of the duo. "We were 18, straight out of high school." After an exhaustive 2004 tour, Albino and her identical twin, Natalie, holed up in the studio to write a follow-up album that was more mature and filled with experiences that the duo had, well, actually experienced.

Four years later, The Musical is finished and ready for release this fall. The album mixes Nina Sky's love of R&B, pop music, and hip-hop beats and features several top producers including Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, Cool and Dre, and Ryan Leslie. "Music is changing," says Nicole. "A lot of hip-hop artists are experimenting with house or techno; more beats are overlapping. And musicians are speaking outside the box, becoming more innovative. It's great for music." The Musical also contains a heavy influence by one of the duo's favorites—Madonna. "She's constantly reinventing herself. We hope to have that longevity in our career."

Finally free from the studio, the sisters are back cruising the streets of Queens, NY, where they were born and raised, deejaying in New York City, and getting tattoos by Andreana at Supernova Tattoos in Astoria, NY . Natalie got a tattoo tribute to her sister—a pin-up girl on a record on her forearm with Nicole's name on the other side. Nicole returned the favor. "I got a tattoo for Natalie," she says. "It's of Ganesh, a Hindu god. She loves elephants." It's now Nicole's favorite tattoo and elicits none of the regret she has over the tattoo of someone else's name she had inked on her arm (which is now covered). "I recommend no one ever, ever doing that. It was a huge mistake."

Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Fat Joe and Wilmer Valderrama among many other well known latinos in the industry stopped and talked to the crowd and posed for pictures on their way into the club.

Jennifer Lopez and celeb producer, manager Benny Medina bypassed the red carpet and were spotted sitting on a couch inside. Rumors were swirling that Leonardo DiCaprio would soon show.

Dawson is the co-founder of Voto Latino, a four-year-old organization that’s making inroads with registering and informing Latino voters

Nothing can stop this young, sexy and energetic lady...not even an unexpected foot injury!!!







She is currently in NY promoting her new film, Disaster Movie, and unexpectedly cut her foot while in her hotel room. She was then taken to the hospital and released at 3:30 a.m. Within a few hours (7:30 a.m.) she and her entourage (MOM and the Double K's)jumped in a black car and were headed for a busy day of promotion and special guest appearances.

I do admit, Kim is a trooper; she didn't let a little booboo on her foot stop her from having a remarkably fruitful and productive day. Kudos to KIM K!

The exclusive photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's twins Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt, that are to be published in this week's issue of People magazine, were reportedly sold for $14 million. That's more than three times what the photos for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt sold for.

The money will all be going to a foundation that was created by Jolie and Pitt that focuses on helping the children around the world. The $14 million bill will be split between People and Hello magazine which owns worldwide rights to the photos.

These two are precious gifts from above as all newborns are; however, are baby pictures worth all the hype and mulah???

The Next Sex And The City Movie Will Be All About... Samantha!

RUMOR is that Kim Cattrall's character is set to STAR in the next Sex and the City movie after approaching producers with the idea that Samantha should take the lead! (YAHOOOOO) I'm getting giddy just writing about this. Samantha's back! We learned that towards the end of the movie. The options are limitless.

If this is true, then Carrie and Big will be pushed off to the side probably living out a happy life in marital bliss while Samantha makes an attempt to get back on track. One co-star isn't rumored to be too happy with the decision... Sarah Jessica Parker.

"Sarah threatened to boycott the sequel if Warner Brothers agreed to Kim's plan. Sarah said she'd withdraw her producer credit and put pressure on Cynthia Nixon and Kirstin Davis to not participate."

If Sarah really doesn't want this to happen... odds are it won't.

"Sarah is in the driver's seat as far as having final say on the sequel and the storylines."

Only time will tell... or a rep confirmation. But I'm banking on time.

Miranda's character will figure out that she is a lesbian in the next movie. Cynthia Nixon is gay in real life so it's all very art imitating life isn't it?

Singer Christina Aguilera played dress-up (in a dazzling full squirt à la Barbie for a photoshoot in celebration of Macy’s upcoming 150th Anniversary this October. (She looks haut!)

The dress in the ad, which will be featured at Macy’s stores nationwide, is a tribute to Macy’s Flower Shows. They debuted in 1946.

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez were all about the romance while spotted enjoying their evening out in Los Angeles over the weekend. La Lopez (AKA LA Diva) was dazzling with joy in a gold silk halter dress and gold platform sandals, while her hubby was seen rocking an all black getup.

The couple spent their evening at Eva Longoria’s Beso Restaurant and were chillin’ until 3 a.m. Now that Madre’s is closed, J.LO can sit back and reminisce in other celebrity restaurants.

Well, at least until her competitive ass opens up a Madre’s part deux!

Yesterday was lovely diva Jennifer Lopez's 39th birthday! She spent her evening with husband Marc Anthony, the incredible shrinking man. The couple went to dinner at the Bowery Hotel, and also went to see In The Heights.

I don't think Jennifer looks her age at all, but I have to wonder if she is one of those women who will turn "39" every year for the rest of her life. I'm guessing that taking care of her children might run her looks down over the next couple years, you know, since she's doing it all herself and all.

Jennifer Lopez is back to work, doing a fashion shoot for Elle in Manhattan. The mother of twins has got herself back into fighting shape by working her famous butt off (well, in this case, probably not off because it's kind of her thing) and her hard efforts have paid off. She looks amazing so soon after their birth!

Whether or not she's still a raging diva, she does manage to look summery sweet in this flowery white and red frock she's sporting, along with some high-voltage red lipstick. She and designer Oscar de la Renta get all chummy, while she plays cover girl.

Even Oscar looks kind of distracted, like he's thinking, "Hennifer, donde estan sus bebes?" But Jennifer just giggles and pretends not to understand. LMAO.. SMH
