Before I jet set to SOBE, I had to disclose another media shutdown... Vibe magazine, the urban-music magazine founded in 1993 by Quincy Jones, is the latest victim of the media recession. An assistant in the office of editor in chief Danyel Smith confirmed that the title is ceasing publication. No further information was immediately available. A call to Vibe Media CEO Steve Aaron went to voicemail.”
VIBE’s P.R. spokeswoman, Tracy Nguyen, has said that Vibe's staff was formally notified in a meeting at 2 p.m. yesterday and at this time it is unknown as to how many people would be laid off as a result of the publications closure.
Enjoy your 4th of July extended holiday weekend; I know I sure will!!! :)
